Introducing : Project Life Baby Edition for Him

A few weeks ago, I got an email from Becky Higgins.  Yes, THE BECKY HIGGINS.  I can't even begin to express how excited I was. So excited that I couldn't even read the email until I stop flipping out.  Yes, I was star struck.

She asked me if I was interested in creating a baby book for one of my boys using one of the first copies of the the soon to be released Project Life Baby Edition for Him.  Seriously?  Me?  I was on cloud nine for a few days afterward and couldn't wait to see the kit in person.  You can find Becky's blog post about the Baby Editions here.

Can I just say that this kit is hands down GORGEOUS.  Lili Niclass designed the baby edition, and as Becky has said before, she totally knocked it out of the park.  It's just perfect: colors, patterns, prompts.  It's boyish but so very versatile.

I chose to make a baby book for Wilder.  He's four now, and I chose him mainly because I have better pictures of him than I have of Bowen, and since Bowen was the first born, he already had a mostly complete baby book.  Now that I've gotten Wilder's done, I am definitely going to make one for Bowen as well, I so love the way it turned out.

It all came together rather quickly, and this is something that a new mother (or not so new mother) can take on without a whole lot of stress.  It's so simple, yet so beautiful.  Becky's made it so simple for you create keepsakes that you'll really cherish forever.

This album includes the first year of Wilder's life.  It was a joy to put together. I hope you enjoy it as well.

Now that you've had a chance to look through it, I'd like to point out that I still have a good bit of beautiful cards left.  I was really amazed at how many cards were included in the kit.

    1. Thank you so much! I lay the layouts in the floor of our foyer, and open the door so that only the storm door is shut. I stand above them and photograph them looking down with no flash or interior light on. It usually works to reduce the glare unless I try to take them too early in the morning when there's a good bit of sunlight coming directly in.

  16. This is so cute! You did a wonderful job of putting it all together. I love how your photos and the colors of the kit seem to all flow together so well. Did you process your pictures all in the same way, or how did you achieve such continuity? (does that make sense?) It's very beautiful. I have followed Becky's blog forever and am glad she shared your blog today. It looks like you are a very talented and dedicated Project Lifer! :) I try but am so, so far behind. Thanks for the inspiration!

    1. Thank you so much for your comments! I am glad that you liked my album!

A lot of the first/early pictures were processed the same simply because they were taken before I had Photoshop, so I ran a quick action on them and tweaked them to make them look better. Other than that, my photo processing is usually all over the place.

  20. Amanda - I was looking through your pages because I'm wondering about the prompts... I did first year books for my three kiddos, but nothing after that. Obviously the pregnancy/first days kind of thing wouldn't work for the 12-24mo year, but wondering if you think there are enough "other" kinds of prompts (where we live/things about mom/dad, etc) that this kit could work for that second year?

  22. Hi there! Love your album!! I'm doing a baby girl PL album...I was just curious, for the big month cards (1, 2, 3, etc.) did you start the first one (card 1) after he was one month old, or would you put it the first month? Does that make sense? I'm so confused on those :) Yours looks so great!
