Studio Calico : Day by Day Project Life Class

I am so excited about Studio Calico's Project Life class which starts in January 2013.  Just in time for new tips and tricks for 2013 Project Life.  The class sounds amazing and comes with an exclusive stamp set (while supplies last).  I have signed up for their Project Life monthly kits, and I think this class will help me learn to get the full use out of the kits as well as introduce some new ideas.

You can check it out here.

Introducing : Project Life Baby Edition for Him

A few weeks ago, I got an email from Becky Higgins.  Yes, THE BECKY HIGGINS.  I can't even begin to express how excited I was. So excited that I couldn't even read the email until I stop flipping out.  Yes, I was star struck.

She asked me if I was interested in creating a baby book for one of my boys using one of the first copies of the the soon to be released Project Life Baby Edition for Him.  Seriously?  Me?  I was on cloud nine for a few days afterward and couldn't wait to see the kit in person.  You can find Becky's blog post about the Baby Editions here.

Can I just say that this kit is hands down GORGEOUS.  Lili Niclass designed the baby edition, and as Becky has said before, she totally knocked it out of the park.  It's just perfect: colors, patterns, prompts.  It's boyish but so very versatile.

I chose to make a baby book for Wilder.  He's four now, and I chose him mainly because I have better pictures of him than I have of Bowen, and since Bowen was the first born, he already had a mostly complete baby book.  Now that I've gotten Wilder's done, I am definitely going to make one for Bowen as well, I so love the way it turned out.

It all came together rather quickly, and this is something that a new mother (or not so new mother) can take on without a whole lot of stress.  It's so simple, yet so beautiful.  Becky's made it so simple for you create keepsakes that you'll really cherish forever.

This album includes the first year of Wilder's life.  It was a joy to put together. I hope you enjoy it as well.

Now that you've had a chance to look through it, I'd like to point out that I still have a good bit of beautiful cards left.  I was really amazed at how many cards were included in the kit.

Have you seen this Studio Calico Class for December Daily?  I just saw the blog post about it, and it looks amazing!  I can't wait for it to start.  I will confess, I've never "taken" an online class before, so I don't really know what to expect.

Registration ends TODAY, so sign up here.

Leave me a comment if you've signed up for the class as well so that we can follow each other's progress.

December Daily : In Progress

After seeing all of the fun holiday lines that have been released, and knowing how many pictures I take around Christmastime, I've decided to participate in December Daily.  For me, mine will not be daily in the strictest sense of the word, but it will be holiday-themed pages throughout.  In fact, I've already got a few pages completed, and we're not in December yet.

I am using a SNAP album from Simple Stories. It's red and kraft. I've yet to embellish or personalize the cover.  I just can't "picture" it yet, so I've decided to hold off until I have a clear picture of what I want it to look like.  As you will see below, I've done a lot of the work already.  I anticipate that I will have to make some changes and adjustments as the month goes on, and I am okay with that.

Here's a look at what I've got so far:

This is my title page. I had so much fun making it, and even stepped out of my comfort zone and used the Heidi Swapp Gold Lame ColorShine. It's beautiful!

The dividers were chipboard, but I wanted to add something to make them pop. I added letters, and painted over them in gold paint (Martha Stewart Paint that I purchased from Michael's)
This is the first page of my album.  We always go tot the Christmas Tree Farm the day after Thanksgiving to get our Christmas Tree, so I definitely wanted to include that in my album even though it happened in November.
And this is our receipt from the Christmas Tree Farm.
This page will have two pictures from when we went to the Opryland Hotel to see the Christmas lights.

I love this. It's by far one of my favorite December Daily items yet. It is a journal card from Paislee Press that I used glue and glitter to make gold.  Liz's version definitely looks glittery once printed, but it's a cooler glitter and I needed mine to be warm, so I brought out the glitter.  (Instagram picture)
I also had some chipboard letters laying around that I've never used, so I decided to paint those gold as well. This is an instagram picture as well, so excuse the quality.

Here's my dedicated December Daily cart. I finally found a Raskog cart from Ikea in stock online, so I snatched it up.  I LOVE it. I should've gotten at least 2.

Here are some items that I am using to embellish my December Daily this year:

Mister Huey's Lucille

Mister Huey's Doris

Wonderland Wood Veneers Snowflakes

Wonderland Die Cut Frames

Project Life : Week 47

Yes, I screwed up on this week's numbering as well. I'm still blaming it on the sickness.  Thankfully I feel much better now.

This was a cram packed week.  A weekend trip to Nashville, the Opryland Hotel, ICE, Santa, a boat ride, Shrektacular, and the Wildhorse Saloon.  Then Wilder and I were sick on Tuesday, and Thursday was Thanksgiving and Friday we went to get our tree. Whew, I'm worn out just typing it all out.  Next week will be slower.  I've got to do another insert with tickets and more journaling from our trip, but that will have to wait.  Maybe I will get it done this week in my spare time. Haha.
