Studio Calico Classroom: Bright Ideas Class
Studio Calico's February Class is Bright Ideas with Nicole Samuels. I've had the opportunity to check out some of the class content, printable files, and cut files, and I think it's going to be great!
Here's a description of the class from the SC website:
You can sign up through January 31 here.

In a creative slump? Find your way out with these BRIGHT IDEAS!
Nicole Samuels will be guiding you through 20 creative challenges
designed to make you look at paper and glue in a whole new light. We've
brought together an awesome group of contributors - Adrienne Alvis, Amy
Tan, Gillian Nelson, Jen Jockisch, Laura Kurz, Lexi Bridges, Lisa
Truesdell, Paige Evans, Shannon Tidwell and Tina Aszmus - to help bring
her challenges to life and give you even more ways to play with your
supplies. Nicole and her contributors have a wide range of styles - from
simple to detailed - and all have a way of looking outside the box when
using their supplies.
A new PDF will be posted each weekday in February - you can work at your own pace, or challenge yourself to tackle one each day! Each PDF will contain a challenge designed to stretch your creativity: a new layout from Nicole or one of her contributors, a sketch, and extra ideas and inspiration from Nicole. In addition, Nicole will be posting a video each Wednesday sharing more bright ideas pulled from her own layouts or layouts in the class gallery. Students will also receive printables from Hello Forever and In A Creative Bubble, and diecut files (.studio, .png and .svg) from Nicole and Kinsey Wilson.

Becky Higgins Creative Team: Project Life 2013 Week 1
I finished up my first 2013 spread this week. I used the GORGEOUS Seafoam kit. I've printed the cards on my printer because I don't have the core kit yet. I also mixed it with the Block Party Project Life kit from Studio Calico.
This was a short week: January 1-4th, so I didn't have a variety of images to use. You will also notice that I don't have a whole lot of journaling for this week. I included most of it in the folded journal cards (I LOVE LOVE LOVE these.) If Becky sold packs of just the folded journal cards, I'd seriously stock up.
You can find the Seafoam Kit here.

December Daily : Finished!
I finished up my December Daily during the few days that I had off this week. I don't know about ya'll, but I am ready to pack up the holiday supplies and move into 2013. With that said, I just wanted to be done with my December Daily. Not the most creative attitude, I know, but it is what it is. I realize that I left some things out, but for the most part, the things that I didn't include in my December Daily were included in my Project Life layouts for that week (like the boys' parties at school, New Year's Eve, etc.)
I finally opened my Silhouette last week, and this was my first cut. Ambitious I know, but it turned out way better than the subsequent cuts. Cut file by Marcy Penner at Two Peas. |
The red polka dot bag contains the boys' letters to Santa, and the canvas bag holds a letter I wrote to them. |
At the Opryland Hotel. This was the only time the boys saw Santa this year, except for maybe once at school. |
Our favorite Christmas songs, and then Christmas with my family. |
Last page of our album with pictures from Christmas morning. The last pocket is a collection of Christmas cards we received this year. |

2012: A Look Back
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I hope that you all are excited to see what 2013 is going to bring. I'm finishing up on my very last Project Life Layout of 2012, and can't wait to begin 2013 (guess I'd better start taking some pictures and fast!).
I thought I'd take a look back at some of my favorite layouts from earlier this year. I think it's also fun to look at how my style has evolved throughout the year.
